Diagnosis

IgE Antibody Blood Test

Specific-IgE and component-resolved blood testing — including ALEX-3 multiplex screening across up to 300 allergens — to map your child's sensitisation precisely.

When a blood test helps

Blood testing is useful when antihistamines cannot be stopped, when eczema is widespread, or when we need component-level detail to understand the risk a particular food poses. Component testing (for example Ana o 3 for cashew or Ara h 2 for peanut) helps distinguish genuine high-risk allergy from cross-reactivity.

ALEX-3 multiplex screening

A single sample can screen for up to 300 allergen components at once — particularly useful for children with multiple or unclear triggers, and when planning oral immunotherapy.

What happens next

Results are interpreted alongside your child's history and any skin prick testing. Where a diagnosis remains uncertain, a supervised oral food challenge is the gold standard.
